A late night move?

With the lingering effects of pneumonia still filling my lungs and the million of trees surrounding me now almost barren of color, it is a time of recovery and waiting. With the crystal white beauty of winters touch still off in the future and sleeping still a problem, even listening to the radio does nothing to warm the spirit. The talk show host’s ramblings of politics and politicians blending with the endless hours of commercials now form nothing but background noise.

Today I enjoyed a late morning coffee a friend, this daily ritual and the conversation with it was a long time missing. During the summer we take a hiatus from this welcome morning routine and I endure tea at my cabin while holding a one way conversation with myself, and even when I answer it’s just not the same thing. However through the fog and haze of the commentators ramblings my ears picked up on two words national debt. It seems that once again our representatives in Washington squeezed one under the radar by a late evening vote they passed a six month extension on the countries budget.

It seems that they did not want to address the hard truth that we, as a nation, are broke and we need to stop spending money we do not have. The reasoning for this is we would get mad as hell with them for trying to cut the budgets of some government offices, and with the election only weeks away this would not be a good thing. So like the graft taking, lying people they are they waited till after the evening news broadcasts and passed the extension, hoping no one would notice. In fact we never really do notice this slight of hand or if we do we soon forget about it and reelect the same people year after year.

Maybe just maybe it is our fault for the economic situation we are in,
for we are the people who keep putting these same politicians back in office.

I heard about this. But I didn’t know you were still not recuperated yet!! Pneumonia takes a while, I know. But here’s hoping you are good before the snow flies :-)

These bastards always pull this shit at midnight or on a week-end & they depend on the dumbing down of Americans to pull it off with their usual success. Believe me, in my job as a bus driver in the Twin Cities, I see it every day. When people don’t bother to read a destination sign on the front of the bus & end up on the wrong one, this news never surprises me.
