Green energy and electric cars…. a peek at reality

February 15, 2021

….2:45 am was the exact time my electricity went off, I know for sure because I had been bing watching some BBC detective series and had just gotten into bed. The news on television earlier had mentioned some 400,000 households being part of a rolling blackout and now it was my turn.

It concerned me a bit because the temperature outside was only 7 degrees and I didn’t know how long it would take the apartment to cool down let alone how long the blackout would last. Fortunately true to the electric companies word it came back on in about 20 minutes and worked that on and off cycle for the rest of the night which allowed the heater to come on and keep the place warm.

That same new report that mentioned the rolling blackout also gave the reason for it as a peak demand the company could not sustain, because not only did they have some power plants out of service but the wind turbines were not working because they were freezing. However for this article the fact that the power company lost enough generating capacity that it must have rolling blackouts is an example of poor foresight in building new generating plants.

After all what did they expect when they are counting on hundreds of massive wind turbines for a good percentage of their power requirements and now the administration is talking of having the nation go to wind and solar for all its power needs… Like the ice on the wind turbines I wonder if they understand what a cloudy day does for solar energy production?

just imagine

if 25 percent of us

convert from gas to electric

for our cars

rolling blackouts

no doubt

will be the new normal

Yup and what do we do with all those pesky batteries when they wear out? Back near my old home town there is still a major environmental mess from a battery plant that shut down almost fifty years ago.

Not only the dead ones but the space required for a city or even part of a city would cover an area almost 25% of what area is needed for the wind turbines or solar panels themselves. Today I read in the Philadelphia Inquirere how people are protesting a wind farm being proposed of the Jersey shore…

I left my comment via my phone but don’t know where that went.

Biden’s pick for either Dept. of the Interior or DNR suggested that with all that open land out west or in our national parks that land could be used for wind turbines and/or windmills.
What are these people thinking? Or more likely what are they imagining in their utopian world?

Not to mention the thunk thunk noise the turbines make & the thousands of birds killed each year by flying into them.

My description for these people is complete, boxed up, gift wrapped, ribbon tied morons.

And these same idiots are concerned about light pollution & mirrored glass on office buildings that disorients the bird population.

    I think that’s what I said originally!

I particularly enjoy the destruction mining does to the earth. Imagine the smugness EV lovers will have driving around thinking they’re saving the earth until they come upon a massive strip mine and not appreciate the role they played in their disappointment seeing the earth ravaged.

And you’ve got me started now Pete. If all these greeners think humans are killing the earth how can they possibly excuse their lack of self control contributing to it’s demise? No one seems to stop driving, flying, having sex (because that leads to more earth killing humans, on and on). Oh brother.

You all, stop what you’re doing, you’re killing the earth. Me, I don’t need to change a thing about myself. Bunch’s horse hooey.

Your lifestyle TBG definitely has a minimum impact on the earth compared to those who represent us and make laws telling us how to live our lives…. (as they get into their personal jets or heavily armored vehicles to go to their massive estates)
