Coronavirus, anti police riots, lockdown and the economy…. I am tired

June 3, 2020

….you may have wondered if I was sick, ( maybe COVID-19 ), when I haven’t commented on the riots and violence erupting across the nation, well like the terminator i’m back but I just do not feel like writing much because I am tired.

I am tired of watching ignorant men and women
close down public highways
they have no business being on.

I am tired of seeing photographs year after year
of young men destroying police vehicles.

I am tired of seeing people
think that by breaking windows, looting and burning businesses
that ‘we the people’
will support them
in the change they seek.

….one solution to the riots happening across our nation against police, remove the police from the areas they are not wanted and let the people who live there police themselves. This way those same people will have no need to loot the local target store for TV’s and clothes nor burn down the local police station because if the areas were self policed they would be just harming themselves.

….and aren’t we all tired of the constant droning of the media about the coronavirus and how we must maintain social distance and ware a mask, yet on Sunday the beach here in Little Elm Texas and other beach communities were packed to overflowing with only a few masks seen.

…and wouldn’t it be nice if the media across this nation spoke as one and said just when some states are re-starting their economies how stupid it is that the protests turned riots are destroying our economy even more?

A parting thought….
how is it that someone can get a permit
for thousands of people to protest as a group
and yet we are not allowed
to gather in our churches to pray?

To answer your question, Pete, politics, baby, politics.
I just went back to work today here in Mpls. after being off since last Thurs.
Lumber companies are making out on all the plywood sold to board up windows.

Because of the injustices that’s happened, and nobody gets charged, the police department evading responsibilities for murdering a man of color, the country is united, and their vandalism, breaking curfew, etc., etc., etc., are the only way they know of, of lashing out their displease, because the government didn’t RIGHT the wrongs! And who can blame them, for getting angry???

I’m gobsmacked Pete that facts don’t matter to people. The ears and eyes hear and see what the mind believes. There’s ample evidence what the media feeds to those who are myopic, and it isn’t supported by the data.

Rioting vs demonstrating are 2 different tracks. Few rioters care about this current issue and have caused egregious harm to minorities who live in these areas.

The moment we justify bad behavior is the day we don’t get to question or hold officers accountable.

Any day can be the day that you are asked to step up to the plate when no one else will. This infinitesimal measure of peaceful courage far overcomes any amount of brutality and bas a more positive influence than all the world’s armies.
