Aging…. a long strange trip

May 3, 2019

A newer look at Philadelphia’s North Eastern Hospital

….back on May 3rd 1946 in a self created Lithuanian ghetto at the Northeastern Hospital on Allegheny Ave in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia a baby was born. At the time his parents were of very modest means he a Linotype operator for the Philadelphia Enquirer and she the typical all American housewife. Because of faith, love and no doubt a good bit of luck the family went on to acquire a comfortable existence and the baby to venture to places far from its home.

In my 73 years
I have been literally to the other side of the world
and crisscrossed this nation many times.
I have walked in the mountains
of Monterrey Mexico
and
put my hand in the arctic ocean
but in all these 74 years
the moments I cherish most
are the hugs
I share with my family

Thank all of you for walking life’s road with me

    Happy Birthday Pete!!
From Del’s post looks like you’re planning a return trip to the 49th state. Good luck & God bless.

The pic of the sign at Prudhoe Bay brought back memories of Margie & mine’s trip there in ’15 & of course the chance to meet you in person!

May you have many more birthdays!

Happy Birthday, Pete! Hopefully you’re getting more cherished family hugs now than you did while living in Alaska. Except for 1 grandson, all my huggers are long distance…for now.
