God or good fortune…. I know the answer

….It was a muggy Texas morning when I left my apartment to do my Monday routine of trash to the dumpster and food shopping before the rains came. To most an easy hour of your time, to me a struggle between trying to breath and shop at the same time. It being a light shopping week, (because of my change in diet), I was done and in line to check out in just over a half an hour. The cashier was on the last couple items when I reached for my wallet and it was…… gone

That is a feeling you do not want to experience, it was as if someone punched me in the gut. I can only equate it to (in a very small way) the loss of a loved one. My mind raced and came to the conclusion that I had not used it for days and had no idea the last time I saw it. I apologized profusely to the clerk and told her I would go back to my place and see if I could find it, for surely it must have fallen out of my pants when I put them on in the mornings or take my pants off at night.

I checked the truck before I returned home but now realize because of the Velcro it could not ‘just’ fall out so as I drove home the only answer was someone picked my pocket.

So while figuring who I have to contact because of a lost wallet I managed to ask for Gods help in having the wallet turn up. It was then I realized what fools many of us are going around praying for such trivial things like lost wallets when there are literally millions of people suffering terribly and in need of a helping hand from God. It brought to mind the words of our Lord in Matthew 6:8 “…your father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him”

Over the years of walking down my life’s road
the hand of God or a guardian angel
has reached out many times
and
protected this sinner.

so is it any wonder
the wallet turned up?

    So, so true! God is faithful. So many times I have misplaced things, and after a minute or two of frantically trying to find it, I lift up a simple prayer to God… Lord, please tell me where my keys are. Usually the next place my eyes fall are on the keys!

    He knows every hair on your head or lack thereof which comes with age. He is infinitesimal so even the small prayers go heard, we just need to keep in mind others as well. A few days ago I had a moment like that. Left the hotel in Mexico about 30-45 minutes prior and all of a sudden it dawned on me I had put my new expensive camera on the desk that was dark like the camera thinking that was a BAD place to put it cause I would over look it. I put on my brakes really fast, my buddies following me wondered what was up, then it was not where I normally keep it. It was panicked kick in the gut feeling but after a few more seconds I found it and breathed relief. ,

    My mom just had her purse picked on our recent trip. Her wallet was taken during a slamming bump from a man going in the opposite direction. She didn’t realize it at the time, but remembered the bump, and herself turning to apologize to a man who never stopped, but kept walking briskly away. A wallet full of everything. And cash. Her savior came in the form of a major city’s highschool female and her boyfriend who found her wallet and its contents strewn about the pavement of an underground parking lot. Only the cash was gone. I received a message request on Facebook asking if I was related to the lady whose wallet they found. Amazing youngsters. Sometimes we are lucky to be a part of something mystifying.

      Some people are indeed blessed as if they had someone watching over them.

      Those kids are an example of what we would like to see in all our young people.
