Texas Pete’s view from under the brim… The secret deal between Hillary and Trump

August 14, 2016

OK my friends strap yourselves in because I am about to take you on a wild ride that will no doubt sound a bit cowboyart3insane. A long time ago when Bill Clinton left office and moved to New York and Hillary ran for Senator a few radio commentators and bloggers, myself included, saw the writing on the wall that Hillary would eventually run for President. Then over the years if one looked hard you could find the occasional stories about Hillary and her family meeting with Trump for this purpose or that. Of course they traveled in the same circles because there are only so many mega-rich living in or around New York and both of them for the most part shared the same liberal point of view.

Fast forward to the current election cycle and low and behold who should pop up as a new Republican candidate but Trump. Over the course of the primary elections he manages to defeat all the other valuable opponents to Hillary and now we are faced with the choice of him or Hillary. Of course now he is making even more absurd comments then in the primaries and continues to offend even more of his supporters practically ensuring he will never get the votes needed to win. Do you really think a man who is intelligent enough to amass a billion dollar empire does not know how to control what he is saying in public? Do you also think when he was actually ahead of Hillary in the polls and it was looking like he could win the election that he would knowingly endanger it without a reason?

The fix was in long ago
and ‘we the people’
are merely along for the ride.

    An interesting conspiracy scenario, Pete…

Yeah, I’ve heard this theory before, but it’s founded on an unproven premise – the assumption Trump is a success and not a con. Forbes, Fortune and many others have asserted for years before he ever became a candidate that he isn’t close to being a billionaire, and that his self-promoted myth of being a “dollar whisperer” is all sales pitch and no substance. Business Week estimated Trump’s net worth at $100 million in 1978, 40 million of which was inherited in 1974. If Trump had merely put that money in an index fund based on the Standard & Poor’s 500 index — the kind many Americans use to save for retirement — he would be worth $6 billion today, without having to continue in business at all. So much for his intelligence.

No, I don’t think he can control what he says in public. He won the primaries by saying outrageous things (good show captures audience), and thinks the drop in the bucket that show up for rallies (a teensy percentage, compared to expected voter totals) proves that he’s winning, and that the polls are all wrong. So, he isn’t KNOWINGLY endangering his campaign. He’s damaging it because he’s deluded. He believes his inability to think before speaking is a virtue, key to his assumed upcoming victory.

As Forever Alaskan said interesting & I’ll add very interesting & food for thought.
I would never support Hillary but the Clintons were at Trump’s wedding, which doesn’t necessarily mean diddly squat but…

These two candidates are saying some pretty mean things about one another. I love the “fix” idea, I am not sure all the pieces fit for it to be true.
