On the Way

I wanted to update everyone here on how Dad is doing.
This is his son (and technical support) chiming in to let everyone know that Pete headed out from Fairbanks Tuesday morning.
“Next stop… Texas” he said.
and then he proceeded to stop at Sam’s Club to gas up the truck– cause there’s always one more thing that needs doing before getting to the things you are actually trying to do.
Last report: He left Whitehorse, Canada, Wednesday morning.
It’s a long trip, and I certainly hope he doesn’t rush through it because spring in Canada is damm beautiful.

Thanks for the update – glad your Dad is on his way. As you say, hopefully he takes some time to enjoy the Canadian spring, which has come rather earlier and is warmer than usual.

let your dad know that my brother and sis-in-law will be pretty much following the trail he blazes in a couple of weeks, as they make their final drive from fairbanks to north texas… and i still say we all need to get together!

If I make it there no problem getting together, but first there is the matter of the remaining 3,200 miles. Tonight instead of sleeping in the truck I have a bed and computer access, but can not get to my Yahoo email because I am in Canada and Yahoo can not verify that it is I! Then just as I pulled in to Ft. Nelson my maintance required light came on??? I guess the guys at Jiffy lub in Fairbanks forgot to reset the light. Anyway thank you for thinking of me..

Hey son thanks for posting my progress. It is a shame I went to the dark side and do not have one of those iPhones I could post a article or some of the many pictures I have taken in the past 24 hours.

So good to hear Pete is making progress; thanks for the update!! I, too, hope that he can some time along the drive to ‘stop and smell the roses’. It’s a long drive but he has no real time constraints so why not take one’s time and just go with the flow..?
