The view out my cabin window for September 26th

September 26, 2014

de view9:25It has been hours since Les left me on this hillside, and though I observed two black bears playing in the valley and a cow moose on the far side of the pond I have seen no bull’s. Observation and pattern Les always said was the path to a successful hunt, the same is true about life in general. Not only being aware of the ‘global picture’ as a whole but being observant of people and activities around us. When added to any pattern occurring over and over during these observations it can help one make better decisions on what to do in their life. I do not know where the following observations fit in to my ‘road of life’ but they do stand out as bumps in the global road.

It seems that once again the 9th circuit court in California is making decisions that run contrary to our constitution. The court ruled that four teenagers from the Morgan Hill High School could not ware T-shirts with the American flag on it during the school celebration of Cinco de Mayo! Am I the only one to think this is crazy? That same court ruled it was OK for some protesters to burn our flag based on the constitutions ‘freedom of speech’ amendment but not to ware an American flag shirt! Those that say our country is heading in the right direction are either just not ‘observing’ what is happening around them or they want the country headed in this direction.

I compare what our news media is doing to adding fuel to a fire. First off I feel domestic abuse is criminal and without any doubt should be punished with fines and jail, and those who ‘abuse’ children should be punished even more severely. That said I want to know ‘why now’ is the media in general making a major story about those football players abuse charges and the NFL’s reaction to them? Spousal and child abuse is not something new and it is by far not limited to football players, so why can we not turn the radio or TV on and listen to a news broadcast without hearing about how the NFL is handling it? Could it be the same controlling hand that slants the news is now pushing for maximum coverage of the abuse charges?

….and some additional food for thought. Could that controlling hand that seems to direct the media also be holding back the results of not only the desertion hearing of, Bowe Bergdahl, the POW who was traded for terrorists, but what is happening with the grand jury trial for the policeman in Ferguson MO? Could it be that the outcome in both cases would not match the way the media has portrayed them so far? Could Bergdahl have been found to actually have deserted his post in combat, and the grand jury could not find just cause to indite the policeman? Could this be the reason the media has now buried these stories?

One of the primary reasons for the Media’s existence was supposedly
to expose misguided or unethical behavior.
For quite a while now it seems that it is acting more like a propaganda agency
for an unseen hand working to mold our opinion.

Well written, Pete. So you got some snow. Hum. I’m in Fairbanks through Monday afternoon, so I have no idea if the Fort has gotten any. The Whites were pretty white when we passed over them Wednesday. About time.

Hey Pete – The Fourth Estate has failed miserably at it’s prime reason for existence – to serve as an independent monitor regarding the government – since newsrooms and news corporations became decidedly liberal in their perspective. Add this to the concept that real journalism (i.e. the unbiased reporting of news) no longer exists as the lame stream media has decided it is acceptable to have an agenda and push it and we can put a fork in our Fourth Estate as it is done!!

Not a thing to ad to either Pete’s or Newbie’s comments. Echo my thoughts exactly.
On a bright side, colors changing fast in Minnesota.
