Never forget

May 27, 2012

Everyday of our lives as we wake and preform our different morning ritual’s of exercise, washing, breakfast and prayer, we should take at least a minute to remember those who have died making our freedom possible. It should not be just one day a year and it should be some sort of ‘moral’ law to at the very least consider what there death has given us.

Even though presently we may be headed in the direction of some very strict foreign nations with there identity cards, multiple cameras on every street in there major cities, restrictions on speech, state sponsored religion or religious law, right now we are still the freest nation on this earth. And this is because of only one reason, that we (the United States), had the will to fight and die for our freedom.

My words are inadequate to exemplify the gratitude we should have for this precious gift of freedom. However I am a firm believer that a picture will evoke more emotion than words so for your consideration and meditation I offer the following.

To all veterans and active duty military I humbly offer
my thanks & my prayers.

The top photo reminded me of last year when I attended a military funeral for the first time. A good friend of mine lost his son in Iraq; just 21 yrs. old & had gotten married just before he left to serve & help protect us. I couldn’t believe level of honor that was bestowed on this fallen hero. When I drove into the service the entire road was lined with solemn flag-bearing individuals. I started crying shortly after beginning to drive through to park. Easily over a 1,000 people including the governor in attendance in a small town about 30 miles west of the Twin Cities.

May God continue to bless our military heroes, fallen, living, or actively serving & their families keeping the “fires burning” at home.

To all of you, a safe Memorial week-end.
