Looking out the cabin window

December 11, 2011

My head was getting ready to explode when I read these two unrelated news items yesterday.

The first one totally incredulous was about Microsoft founder Bill Gates. It seems he was in China signing an agreement with the science ministry, (another arm of the Chinese military akin to our DARPA). He was agreeing to help China build a new state of the art nuclear reactor. This was to be a cutting edge totally new reactor that created minimal to no atomic waste. Thus rendering the production of electricity from a nuclear reactor virtually safe, compared to the recent problems with the reactors in Japan and three mile island in Pennsylvania. WHY China? What is the problem with helping Americas nuclear power companies? If anyone can figure this one out I would be happy to here there reasoning.

The second news story dealt with a TV show my children grew up watching, Sesame street. It seems that not only are they promoting diversity and being ‘PC’ on there shows now but also advocating the use of federal assistance programs. It seems that they want to insure from the earliest stages of life kids know the government is there to ‘take care’ of them so they do not have too. How about some show on how kids used to make money with paper routes, lemonade stands, cutting lawns, shoveling snow and selling subscriptions to magazines. Or even a show on being proud to be an American. Yeah I know I am old school and stuck in my ways, but I still believe that self reliance should be instilled in children not how to look for government hand outs.

I guess it is true…

I have become my father yearning for the ‘old days’

You know you've been online to long when you see this!

I agree, and that is why we are teaching the 14 month old greatgrandson to help with the firewood. He is never too young to learn how to work. He is so proud when he brings his little pieces over to the stove.

For those of us paying attention & understanding what a utopian world really entails, it’s not education, it’s indoctrination of our kids into socialism. Grab them when they’re young, just like Hitler did & our enemies in the Middle East do. So this lifestyle is completely normal to them & “our” lifestyle is something to fight against. And they have the perfect ally in our own President.

So upset by this I can’t think to write anymore. God help us all & God bless what’s left of America.

    On one point- Why China?
Because in the US, or most any other country, it’s a 10-20 year process of “studies” and “assessment” before a nuclear plant can even begin to clear the ground. China is growing so rapidly they can look at and approve new technology in under a year. If he wants to demonstrate the viability of a new nuclear technology, China would be the only place to do it because they have the money to build it, and the government can just say “it will be done” and it happens.

In the USA there are proposals for over twenty new reactors and 12 combined construction and operating licence applications for these are under review. All are for late third-generation plants, and a further proposal is for two ABWR units. it is expected that some of the new reactors will be on line by 2020.

In China, now with 14 operating reactors on the mainland, the country is well into the next phase of its nuclear power program. Some 26 reactors are under construction and many more are likely to be so in 2012.

Where’s the world’s largest dam being built? China.
It could never happen here or anywhere else for that matter.

Once in a while, there is a reason for some of those studies. Not always mind you and generally not as many or as many years required. But how else will they know whether they are building something that is fairly safe? It isn’t like China has the best record for safety on building anything. Maybe that is their answer to population control.
