History anyone?

January 23, 2011

There is a quote that I do not know verbatim, but goes something like this…Those who do not know history are destined to repeat it.

In 1936, the New York city government decided to tear down a section of it’s elevated train line. The scrap metal was bought by the Japanese government. Many Americans voiced there opinion that this was a bad idea, because the Japanese were expanding there military. These people were called raciest and nothing was done. The metal ended up being used for military ships and bayonets that killed thousands of American serviceman.

The president just announced a ‘deal’ between GE and China where we would give them the technology and material to “help” them build there first (long) range passenger plane. This coming just a week after photos of China’s new stealth fighter appeared in the news.

China has made it clear it wants to be the pre-eminent supper power in the world. Is there anybody in Washington that sees it is a bad idea to help them with cutting edge technology, that can turn around and bite us on the ass? Maybe money is more important than patriotism.
